Huge nose of figs, bready yeast, bubblegum, plums. On the tongue this is sweet, doughy, tastes o f yeast, plums, apricots, dates, candi sugar, just a hint of alcohol. Gives a little alcohol burn in the chest. Amazingly light and fluffy in the mouth, especially for how big this is. Wow. AgentSteve (1375), SF Bay Area, California, USA

Bottle vintage 1990, deep brown pour with flares of orange when held to the light. Smooth and mellow with complexity abounding. Bready malt, dried fruit, caramel, sugars, and on and on. Hiding the % as well. Soonah (940), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2008 A hazy orange and brown pour with an ample off-white head. The aroma was bready, yeasty, fruity and tart. Sugary, apple flavors mix with earthy, yeasty richness. A bit of light chocolate as well. The mouthfeel was medium and the finish was nice and dry. Didn’t notice that this was 12% abv, very well hidden. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA

Pours a hazy orange color with a monster foamy off white head. There was tons of sediment in this bottle !! This belgium strong ale has a wonderful citrus, caramel, and banana aroma. The taste is of figs, citrus, candy, and yeast. The 12% is pretty well hidden, and there is some nice lacing too. This is very impressive stuff. BoBoChamp (1361), Gent, Belgium

Just amazing aroma of sweet fruits and caramel malts. Flavor very sweet, but not cloying at all, with a wonderful vineous finish. This beer ages unbelieveably well. Just an unbelieveable beer.
