TerryR (382), Oswego, Illinois, USA Mar 15, 2005 Aroma of sweet malt, yeast and slightly bitter hops. Hazy red color with tan head. Flavor starts out with sweet malt and moves to a quite dry somewhat bitter finish. Medium bodied. skortila (2433), Bunnik, Netherlands Feb 8, 2005 I agree with caesar that this brew isn’t really a dubbel. But imo the aroma is more like a german pilsener or dunkel, when it comes to aroma. Bit hoppy and malty, perhaps some hints of fruits. Not too good i think. Hazy, red-brown coloured with a lasting, thin, off-white head. Taste is sweet, malty (caramel), some fruit in it and a hopbitter finish. bierkoning (4917), La Tropica, Netherlands Oct 20, 2003 Best until end '03. Light colored for a dubbel, some kind of faded orange color, almost no head. Orange and some porto in the aroma. Vinous, almost sherry-like flavor with some orange and a hint of porto. Sweetish, light bodied and some hopbitterness. Not abundant with flavors and aroma's. caesar (2537), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands May 19, 2003 Copper color, medium lasting creamy head. Sour creamy taste. Bit tart aroma, gueuze like. I can't recognize any typical double features though. I shared the bottle with jerohen, and maybe that expiration date could do the trick... jerohen (1478), Bussum, Netherlands May 19, 2003 One year after expiration date: clear amber coloured, nice lacing. Malty aroma, bit hoppy. Dry bitter flavour. Not really dubbel-style.
