Fruity sweet flavor with cherries. Pretty sour for a non-lambic kriek. Vanilla sugar. Actually a quite good beer! Otje (668), Leiden, Netherlands

Pours a red/pinkish beer with a soda-like carbonation which leaves nothing for the rest of this tasting, almost flat beer. Smells good, like cantillon indeed, but that’s where this comparison ends! Unbalanced flavours, sourish, sweetish and bitterish with above that lots of cherry syrup(or are those real cherries, maybe). Finishes dry, bitterish and sweet with of course cherries. Unbalanced and uninteresting (if only it had some horseblanket!!) Really, i think this is a genuinly brewed beer, not like those fake sweet belgium fruit beers, but.... jbrus (4895), Delft, Netherlands
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 4, 2006 Bottled. Tart cherry and woody aroma that reminds me of Cantillon or maybe even more of Eylenbosch Kriek if I remember correctly. Red color, light hazy, almost no head but it’s light pinkish, no lace. Mmmm, even looks like a lambic. But then the flavor ruins it all. Sweet cherry syrup, fruity sourness, light bitter, hint of cherry pits in the finish. Sticky start, thin finish. So the flavor is more like all the new Rose’s that are coming up. What a pity, it almost made it.
