Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 1, 2005 Updated: Jun 6, 2005(Bottle 33 cl) I believe this was De Graal’s first beer. And -atypically- it’s a ginger beer. Very beautiful, amber colour, hazy with a large amount of yeast-sediment. But it’s the completely massive head that leaves the biggest impression. It stands an inch high in the glass and never disappears completely. Unusually welldone. Ginger beer can be a mixed delight, but this might be the best I’ve ever had. The ginger adds a piquant edge to an already good ale. High carbonation. 010203 jbrus (4834), Delft, Netherlands Apr 24, 2005 So it is possible to make a beer with ginger that tastes good! Very fruity aroma: sweet citrus and apple. Golden color, white head, good lace. Sweet, fruity, ginger, light bitter. Medium body, little sticky, warming and soft. Engelsmann (653), Copenhagen, Denmark Apr 24, 2005 ZBF 2005. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is spicy mostly ginger. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark Apr 3, 2005 Zythos Beer Festival, Sint-Niklaas, Belgium 2005. Hazy golden colour with a white head. Spicy fruity aroma and a sweet fruity, ginger taste. Medium body and a sweet finish. sayravai (3720), Helsinki, Finland Feb 2, 2005 (Bottled) Hazy golden color with a smallish head. Citric-lemony-ginger, fruity aroma. Fruity ginger flavor, quite pleasant. Medium-bodied, quite low-carbonated palate. A very pleasant and refreshing brew. skortila (2875), Bunnik, Netherlands Dec 21, 2004 Ginger and citrus in the nose. I can understand de lavender notes, but i do not share them. I’s quite ’flowery-spicy’ though. Hazy, orange coloured with a creamy, off-white lasting, thick head. Quite good lookin’. Again much ginger in taste. initially sweet and bitterness evolves towards the finish. Slightly metalic and watery. Not really fantastic. pivo (2535), Germany Nov 10, 2004 Not quite getting beer - what are they going for? Perfumy lavender sweet nose - reminds me of being in a soap store. Pale hazy yelllow color and a foamy head. Lavender again in the flavor profile, some rosemary too. Watery and thin. Not enjoyable for me.
