clear gold under a lively fizzy white head with lots of carbonation bubbles. fresh, herbal, crisp, vanilla, aroma. flavor is cool minty, vanilla. leaves your mouth feeling clean and refreshed like some kind of minty chewing gum or toothpaste. drinkable and not too focused on the ginger but it’s definitely there.

33cl bottle. swap with plovmand. this one is BBF june 2008, sampled february 2009, but no signs at all it’s too old. hazy golden with some yeast, small white head. aroma is slightly citrussy, also a bit spicy. flavor is slightly citrussy, or perhaps honey and flowery, ginger.

Cloudy straw color with a tallish white head. Sweet ginger and pale malt scents. Some light brown sugar notes as well. LIght pale malt start. Nearly a light lager start. Light ginger kicks in, not as sharp as most ginger brews. I find this very balanced for a light ginger brew. Fairly dry in the finish and linger. Just a bit of earthy malt left to warder about.

Bottle, october 08. Slightly hazy yellow/golden color with some floaties and a small white head. Spicy aroma, some honey and slightly mineral notes. Flavor is spicy, very sweet with a weird citric-acid note at the end. Sweet aftertaste. Sweetness just receeds at the brink of being cloying. Medium palate, lots of flavor going but not harmonious. Rather unbalanced and not easy to drink. Weird, spiced, sweet belgian ale.

Pours bright gold into a tulip. Fluffy white head recedes to hug rim. Dusty peach aromas. Sweet caramel upfront with a dry, lasting pit fruit finish.

330ml bottle picked up at BSF, GBBF in August 08 to be enjoyed back home in Tromsø. Pours a huge rocky, white head partly lasting on top of a clear, golden body. Cloudy last pour, though. Smell of late oranges and sweet figs. Sweet, dried fruits in flavour supported by pale malts and herbs. Beneath there are discreet hints of elderflowers and ginger. More ginger on the swallow. Medium to full bodied. Dry in the mouth (11.10.2008).

Bottle from Dranken Geers. Hazy gold, thin off white head. Very herby aroma. It’s a herby floral beer, with a decent backbone. But still it’s just not my typre of beer. Yes, the variety of Belgian beers is great. But some just don’t work. Just too herby and floral for me.

Bottle at lowlander. Alround rating: Giner, woody, pine, yeasty, sweetish, the typical belgian fruity esters and relitivly balanced and quite drinkable.
