Light orange pour with clear golden glow and small head. Sour aroma which reminds of old beer with a subtle hint of smoke. Taste is full of smoke and deep oak, changing to pure smoke.

Pours a clear reddish orange color with a thin head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is smoked and fruity with strawberry and cherries. Flavor is mildly sweet, slightly smoked and with some spicy fruit taste. Low carbonation. Long bitter finish.

A hazy dark reddish brown ale with a thick moka head. In aroma, a pleasant mix of pepper, cinnamon hearts, and peat. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt, with light Brett, and smokey peat notes. Medium bodied. Bottle bought at Cracked Kettle, Nov. 2006. BB 30/04/07. Tasted with Probstk, Jan 11 2009.

Bottle: Clear, shestnut-amber coloured, small off-white head with a good lace; sweetish caramelly-nutty nose with a good dash of smoked malt; relatively light bodied for a beer of 6.5%, moderate to solid sweetish-bitter flavour; lingering hoppy-woody-smoky finish with a caramelly "tail". Good smoked Bier......

(swing top bottle, purchased at the brouwerij) Clear, dark amber colour with a medium-sized and light beige foamy head. Sweet and distinctively smoke-malty aroma with a nutty touch and shy herbal hoppy notes. Sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied with a moderately carbonated mouthfeel. Robust smoke-malty taste with notes of caramel and herbal spice. Dry-out effect towards the smokey finish with nutty notes, caramel and a good dash of herbal hops at the very end (13.I.09).

0,5 L bottle shared by Lubiere (merci!), served cold in a goblet. BB 30-04-2007. JA11/09.

App.: Very cloudy deep amber with some large yeast flecks and a smallish tan head. Aroma: Quite fruity – cherries and lots of apple cider, some warm spices (cinnamon and cloves), very light funk. Palate: Medium-ish body and fairly lively effervescence. Flav.: Apple cider, a bit of cinnamon, a little caramel; somewhat bitter and a little off-dry.

Maybe a bit tired, but certainly in nice shape for its age!
