MitchWayne (120), Kokkola, Finland Oct 27, 2008 Hazy dark orange beer, small head, expensive price. The aroma is very fruity and sweet, the taste is the same except the alcohol is much more evident in the finish. The body is full adn the dryness is a plus too. Vintage 2005. harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 20, 2008 Bottle at the Angry Fist of Santa tasting at Chris o’s. Love the aroma. 2005 bottle. Great barley wine, bit of heat in body. Actually it starts well but I went off it. Just too hot. Floback (280), N-town, Florida, USA Oct 11, 2008 Bottle from 2005, courtesy of SoLan from Knightly Spirits. Pours fizzy with a caramelish-amber color and no head. This beer presents a nose of dark fruits like plum and pomegranate. Flavors are boozy with notes of bourbon whiskey, melon, subtle piney hops, apple, candi sugar, subtle spice, and a caramel/oak mouthfeel. Medium/high carbonation and full body. Robust and pleasant to drink though not as complex as expected. To be enjoyed slowly. fordest (1836), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Oct 8, 2008 2005 bottle. Lots of dark fruit and caramel aromas.
