Commercial Description:
Translated from Dutch, on the painted label: "heavy beer, 12% ABV, from for long cellaring. Full, dark, aromatic. Now ready to drink, but around 2008 at its peak. Store cool and dark. Drinkable until eternity." English bottles: Exquisitely brewed by Browerij De Hemel - "Heaven" in Dutch - and gently accented with spices lovingly picked from the Garden of Eden. It is specially brewed to give pleasure for all Eternity. Keep it in your cellar as long as you can. It just gets better as time goes by.

Bottle thx to Noize. Amber colour, off-white head. Aroma has caramel, dark dried fruits and alcohol. Flavour is fruity and malty, has sugar cane. Round bodied. Very well done.

Hazy dark orange beer, small head, expensive price. The aroma is very fruity and sweet, the taste is the same except the alcohol is much more evident in the finish. The body is full adn the dryness is a plus too. Vintage 2005.

Bottle at the Angry Fist of Santa tasting at Chris o’s. Love the aroma. 2005 bottle. Great barley wine, bit of heat in body. Actually it starts well but I went off it. Just too hot.

Bottle from 2005, courtesy of SoLan from Knightly Spirits. Pours fizzy with a caramelish-amber color and no head. This beer presents a nose of dark fruits like plum and pomegranate. Flavors are boozy with notes of bourbon whiskey, melon, subtle piney hops, apple, candi sugar, subtle spice, and a caramel/oak mouthfeel. Medium/high carbonation and full body. Robust and pleasant to drink though not as complex as expected. To be enjoyed slowly.

2005 bottle. Lots of dark fruit and caramel aromas. Similar flavor with lots of spice and overall sweetness. Pretty tasty.

Vintage 2005. Dark amber hazy beer with a nice creamy head. Rich aroma with peanuts, fruits, plum and apricot, some fine roasted malt, spices and liqueric alcohol. Oily texture with a complex mouthfeel, roasted grains, dried fruits, apricot and peanuts, some spicy taste like a cognac.. Liqueric-alcoholic and spicy aftertaste. Fine!
