Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 8, 2003 A brown beer with a beutiful but disappearing head. The aroma is sweet and fruity. The flavor is sweet and malty with strong notes of cinnamon. It end on a nice bitterness. An good Christmas beer. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Dec 13, 2002 Sampled draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden.
Ruby. Coloured. Flowery hop aroma. Dry nose, nicely malty - near full body. Fruity and clean with a flowery bitter finish. Papsoe (10510), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 15, 2005 Updated: Jul 2, 2005(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful, clear bronze colour, rather limited head. Typical fruity esters from the ale-yeast and a light sweetish, caramel-like aroma which is perfectly balanced by a prominent bitterness. Medium body and easier to drink than most other heavy Belgian winter/christmas-beers. 240205 yespr (6944), Copenhagen O, Denmark Dec 7, 2006 75 cL bottle. Pours with whith and short-living head. Clear smell of of "De Koninck"-hops. Elements of yeast too. Taste is classical de Koninck with hops and malt. On top of this is a sweet taste of cinnamon together with vinous fruity/fig-like taste. Almost creamy texture but still light bodied. I’m not much of a De Koninck fan, this is better than their other beers, but still not amongst the best Belgian seasonal ales. joergen (6529), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 26, 2004 Amber colour with a big beige head.
Sweet spicy aroma with notes of grass.
The flavour is dominated by malty sweetness, spices and yeast.
