Medium amber with a load of rather nasty looking floaties, both bottles we had. Aroma was malt and surprisingly enough, mint, a bit of bread, and a lot of caramel accents. Flavor is decidedly malty with a touch of alcohol and a bit of muskiness. Some honey also. So-so. Not often that I find the apperance to detract so much, but it was hard to get past the fact that I was having to use my teeth as a strainer. daniellerose7 (119), new york, New York, USA

Had it on tap, but next to a Maredsous 8 there was no contest!!! I traded itz! RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 31, 2007 Pours a clear amber color into the trappist glass. An inch head slowly subsides, leaving traces of sticky lacing on the sides of the glass. Scents of malt, bread, caramel and vanilla. Has a clean taste with some spices, malt and pepper coming through. Rather thin and unexciting. Not a beer that I will seek out again. Cletus (5050), Connecticut, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 30, 2007 Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells earthy and dry. Tastes sweet and has hints of wildflowers. Filtered to death. A shadow of what this once was. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
