Pours a dark copper with a silky smooth white head and decent lacing. Aroma is non distinct, slightly peppery. Flavor has some bitter notes, reminds me more of an Alt than a Belgian. Flavor is slighlty nutty with some fresh lake water notes and not much else. Slightly thin mouthfeel, but goes well with the bitterness. Good for session material. ogivlado (3088), Zagreb, Croatia
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 30, 2008 Bottled(300ml). -Clear amber coloured, medium sized white head, dusty malty nose. Malty, weak hoppy, spicy and mild fruity taste with notes of yeast and caramel, but overal quite thin beer. The worst of 5 beers I’ve tried in Zotte, Amsterdam. hughie (3074), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 28, 2009 Amber with a small off white head. Sweet, yeasty aroma. Sweet rather fruity taste, a bit thin, but pleasantly dry. Raspberry perhaps? An excellent accompaniment to a typical English cricket picnic of smoked salmon, strawberries and cream, sultry heat and evening thunderstorms. GeneralGao (3071), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

Because it’s not as heavy as trappistes and special brews, this beer is easy to drink and cheap in Holland, which makes it a number one on my buying list! rauchbier (3002), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 14, 2002 This beer is spectacular on draught from the brewery tap in Antwerp, and very good in bottle. My only problem is that it comes in such small bottles (330ml), I prefer to do my drinking by the (english)pint. presario (3001), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
