| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 4, 2007 12oz bottle, a steal at $1.49 at west lakeview in chicago. pours clear auburn with small white head. nose is cherry pits, raisins, toffee, toasted biscuit, and grains. flavor is sorta muted, raw wet grains, dull biscuit, hints of cherry pits, rubarb. palate is just too dry and earthy. still a nice session belgian ale, but nothing special. mouth feel is too watery. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 13, 2007 330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.0%. Brown colour, low head. Moderate but pleasant fruity aroma, hints of spices. The flavour is spicy with moderate malts, not very sweet, pleasant to drink. Relatively high carbonation in the glass. This is not an "extreme" Belgian ale in any way, and no "challenge" for the beer enthusiast, but probably an ale that most people will like.
