The nose is sweet, a tad earthy, some metallic rustyness, corn, . The flavor is slightly sweet, cornish, some earthy character, grassy leafy hop character. For as carbonated as it looks in the glass there isn’t much in the mouthfeel. Pretty underwhelming. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 30, 2005 Poured from the bottle and coupled with Wild Boar & Chimay Sausages. A pale brown with a good coverage of head - which laced beautifully down the glass. Aroma was a pleasant sweet malt. One downside was that it was TOO COLD (what a sin), so difficult to get out any flavours, except for the malt. It did melt on the tounge though, not as in your face as some other belgium beers. Also had a nice amount of bitterness. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 7, 2009 This ale pours with an amber hue and a large head. Nose is really delicate, but shows a touch of spicy/peppery hop character and sweet fruity malt. Flavor is clean, dry and herbal. Better than almost every U.S. amber ale.
