Nose is really delicate, but shows a touch of spicy/peppery hop character and sweet fruity malt. Flavor is clean, dry and herbal. Better than almost every U.S. amber ale. More hoppy than a lot of them also. Pour was a nice dark amber with a one finger off white head. Aroma had some hops and sugary malt. Taste was yeasty and well carbonated with hints of sugar, sticky malt and a hoppy dry aftertaste. Nice work. Beer2000 (1852), Kristiansand, Norway

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 17, 2005 Pour is a good looking red-brown with lots of floaties in there. Aroma is very wine like and vinegar. Flavor is dark fruits with a certain mustyness. The flavor never really comes out and hits you like most Belgians. For this it loses points but over all it is decent and prob good for someone wanting to try the Belgian style for the first time. SDbruboy (1833), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 3, 2005 33 ml bottle, from BevMo LaJolla. Pours a beautiful rosy-amber color with a small beige head. Aroma is dusty-toasty malts, with a dry yeastiness and herbal notes. Flavor is dry and bitter-sweet with floral hops and a slight spicy yeast. Light to medium body and moderate carbonation. This would be a good one with food, not bad as a European session ale as well. berkshirejohn (1833), Bracknell, Berkshire, England
