Amber in color with a white head. Pretty good aroma of bready malt, yeast, and some dark fruit. Flavor is bready, somewhat grainy malt with a little caramel, yeast, and raisin. Palate medium. Not too exciting overall. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Nov 4, 2002 RE-RATE: Rich-looking brown pour fading into a clean amber. Chewy mouthfeel. strong apple in the smell and taste. This would be a good everyday beer...onot too complex but still damn good. Slight bit of tobacco flavor in the finish.
ORIGINAL RATING 8-4-8-4-15 4/14/2002: Fruity, hoppy taste. Pretty average as far as Belgians go. diabel (1372), Aarschot, Belgium

Clear amber body with an off-white creamy head which is good lacing and mostly lasting. Light bitter initial flavour, and moderately bitter finish. Soft, chalky moutfeel. Watery texture. Nice amber colour, bitter nose, but I am not sure what (Styrian Goldings?). It is a good beer to start but not continue a session. ilovedarkbeer (1367), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 17, 2006 Much little full and fading head. Reddish clearly color with darker reflexs, extinguished, limpid and a lot little bubbly. Simple and little intense scent with light flowery, alcoholic and of dry malty notes. Decidedly vanished taste, little pungent and indeed, rather smooths and nearly mellow. Simple fruity aromas: ribes, toffee and little more. Disappointing.
