Seem to recall quite enjoying this over the years and this was one of the first Belgians that I returned to. Not quite sure how it stands up now though on the evidence of my most recent taste. It just seemed a bit pedestrian and lacklustre. Wouldnt mind trying in Antwerp to see if its any improvement.... beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA

Clear amber ale having a long-lasting large white head with good lacing. Fruity and sweet malt aromas. Medium bodied that starts with sweet malt and toffee flavors. Finishes with light malt aftertaste. No discernable hop or bitterness. This is a good drinkable session beer. yalnikim (781), Wellington, New Zealand
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 26, 2008 Tasted 25/02/2008. 25cl bottle from Rumble’s, Wellington. Pours amber, as per the label description. Bright, with a lacy diminishing white head. Aroma is very reminiscent of a Vienna malt, biscuity, vogel’s grainy bread, toasted sweet buns. A little floral hop and some orange. Unfortunately this one is also showing some oxidised notes. Sweet bready malt in the mouth, with a mild herbal hop finish. Pretty simple. A very faint whiff of spice on the palate - or is that just the vietnamese coleslaw. Goodish, though a fair bit past its best. DrBeer (777), Danderyd Stockholm, Sweden

Malty with notes of mustard, roasted malt, rubber and some hops.
Malty flavor with notes of grass, graphite, berries, spices and roasted malt. Dry long bitterness. Uglyradio (775), Greenville, South Carolina, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 19, 2003 Pours a slightly cloudy amber color with a small white head. The head does not linger and the beer only leaves a few lacings on the glass. The aroma is a little weak but I detect some hops and yeastiness. Mouthfeel is a little thin and carbonation is low, the flavor is alightly malty sweet with a watery, slightly bitter finish with hints of yeast and spices that only serve to tease you and make you think how much better this beer could have been. This is definitely one of the weakest Belgian ales I have had. It is a little watery and fairly bland. Unimpressive. hombrepalo (767), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Very clean mouthful, well balanced with a low bitterness and some nice malty flavours. Its a little one-dimensional, but still a very nice beer. DerWeg (760), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 10, 2005 Deep amber, lightly hoppy and slight bitter fragrance with yeast. Taste is fruity malt profile, only a little sweet, dry-grassy hops are present. Pleasant and forgettable.
