| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 15, 2005 Poured cloudy dark amber with a minimal head, but with an abundance of floaties, maybe due to it being 12 months out of date! The dusty aroma contains some spice, toffee and muscatels. The flavour is well balanced, sweet with some good finishing bitterness. A medium bodied palate with a decent lasting aftertaste. This beer certainly fights above it’s weight of 5%, with plenty of flavour. Wiseblood (658), Clarksville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 23, 2003 Almost an abbey, pours thick with a caramel aroma. Spiciness that could be cinnamon or vanilla is a big part of the flavor. There is some dark fruit also present, though this appears more towards the end. All in all a very enjoyable beer - weaker and less complex than many Belgian ales, but still interesting.

Aromas of plums, honey, grapes and somewhat white wine. Dry feel in the mouth, somewhat deceiving to the nose (smelt a little creamier). Aromas are hard to find in the flavors. Farely high biitterness. There’s a caramel aftertaste. Unequal to the palate compared to other belgians of its kind. mike1977ok (637), Netherlands

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 16, 2006 On tap at the reef: A light copper golden color with a big fluffy white head. Enjoyed this belgian ale quite a bit, it was fruity malty, sugary sweet, a tiny bit metallic, with a crisp dry finish. Gypsy19 (630), California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 29, 2009 Pours a clear brown with a small beige head that quickly collapses. Aroma is of pilsener malts and just a touch of hops. Flavor is of nutty malts, chestnut, a touch of chocolate. Light, but pleasant. Much like an average American brown ale. Smooth finish, medium mouthfeel. Not great, but decent. Overall, good.
