Clear bronze apearance, well carbonated, decent head formation. Toasted malt, grainy aroma with a touch caramel and a touch of spice. Sweet, clovey palate, lightly malty flavors, good bitterness in the finish. 7-3-7-3-15

February 2005: Cask @ Wetherspoon’s Scunthorpe
Fairly clear reddish appearance. Rich malty, fruity, mildly spiced aroma. Sweet fruity flavor, mild clovey spice. Interesting cask version.

My cousin’s friend Rodney has a penchant for European brews. Sometimes he cheerfully shows up with skunky swill, but for one recent gathering he scored this brew. It’s warm and spicy like a dulled mulled cider, its spices muted by a rounded malt and softly undercut with a whiff of hops. Tasty, but not outstanding out of the bottle.

nice amber color, dry and bitter, finishes off like a bohemian pilsner. Great for drinking in massive quantities.

On tap at Pub Italia. Hazy pale amber with a thin layer of off-white foam. Fruity, yeasty, light caramel aroma. Fruity and yeasty flavours with a dry bitter finish. Medium bodied, a bit flat and lifeless.

Coppercolour with thin, firm creamy white head. Malty with notes of mustard, roasted malt, rubber and some hops. Malty flavor with notes of grass, graphite, berries, spices and roasted malt. Dry long bitterness.

Fruity hop aroma, orange body. Flavour is quite sour, like a grapefruit. Not bad not great.
