Aroma is dusty-toasty malts, with a dry yeastiness and herbal notes. Flavor is dry and bitter-sweet with floral hops and a slight spicy yeast. Light to medium body and moderate carbonation. This would be a good one with food, not bad as a European session ale as well. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 7, 2007 Pours a cloudy brownish amber in color with a rocky inch-thick off-white head that lasts. Aroma of yeasty bread, fruit (raisins) caramel. Sweet, slightly earthy malt flavor with an interesting dry finish. I don’t know why, but I’m reminded of Boston Baked Beans candy for some reason. Sweet, yet ... not. Oh, well. Very enjoyable at any rate. JohnBarleycorn (394), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 23, 2007 Deep amber colour, minuscule head and some unexpected sediment. The nose is quite enticing with its full-on jammy raspberry profile. Curiously, very little of this raspberry expresses itself in the flavour. Rather than fruity, the flavour is bitter and woody; if anything it’s raspberry seeds, not raspberry fruit. Regardless, the flavour is still quite pleasing and the juxtaposition between aroma and flavour makes for an interesting experience. blutt59 (2167), Dallas, Texas, USA
