For a 5%er, De Koninck has varied flavors and surprising depth. Any town would be proud to have this as its local beer... rw4244 (128), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England

Malty, toffee aromas with hints of caramel and fruity spiciness. Quite sour in flavour, with hints of apple, malt, and toffee. Very tasty. A sour bitterness in the finish. Medium yet full, satisfying palate. A good tasty beer; complex yet refreshing. Cartoonkhaki (1150), Brantford, Ontario, Canada

Good balance of malt and hops, mute creamy palate. Slightly fruity. Has tht stewed pear and apple flavour that the triple has but more subtle. stubby (326), Santee, California, USA

An industry standard. Wish we had industry standards like this in the USA. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England

Makes me want to go back to Antwerp. Andrew196 (1091), Katy, Texas, USA

The hops were awesome! They went from a floral to a standard euro hop taste accompanied by a nice roasted malt flavor. Finished out very smoothly without a whole lot of acidity like a lot of the Belgians have, that would explain the rather low alcohol content. LaChad (1375), San Francisco, California, USA

Chewy mouthfeel. strong apple in the smell and taste. This would be a good everyday beer...onot too complex but still damn good. Slight bit of tobacco flavor in the finish.
ORIGINAL RATING 8-4-8-4-15 4/14/2002: Fruity, hoppy taste. Pretty average as far as Belgians go.
