Has the ’Belgian’ taste for sure, but not as full in body as the abbey types.

A classic everyday Ale, best sampled in the cobblestoned plazas of Antwerp, its home. For a 5%er, De Koninck has varied flavors and surprising depth. Any town would be proud to have this as its local beer...

25cl off tap. Poured a clear, dark orange amber, with a lasting off white head. Malty, toffee aromas with hints of caramel and fruity spiciness. Quite sour in flavour, with hints of apple, malt, and toffee. Very tasty. A sour bitterness in the finish. Medium yet full, satisfying palate. A good tasty beer; complex yet refreshing.

Dark amber, caramel head, dark robust flavour. Good balance of malt and hops, mute creamy palate. Slightly fruity. Has tht stewed pear and apple flavour that the triple has but more subtle.

Nice beer. Very well balanced with that Belgian character that people either love or hate. An industry standard. Wish we had industry standards like this in the USA.

RE-rate:Love this stuff, spicy, peppery, with a dry yeast character, on the drier side of the scale, silkTork is totally right, this stuff grows on you, bigtime, and i reckon its great from the bottle, aswell as the tap, very Belgian. Makes me want to go back to Antwerp.

Pretty good Belgian beer. I loved the burnt orange hue when the light hit the glass. The hops were awesome! They went from a floral to a standard euro hop taste accompanied by a nice roasted malt flavor. Finished out very smoothly without a whole lot of acidity like a lot of the Belgians have, that would explain the rather low alcohol content.

RE-RATE: Rich-looking brown pour fading into a clean amber. Chewy mouthfeel. strong apple in the smell and taste. This would be a good everyday beer...onot too complex but still damn good. Slight bit of tobacco flavor in the finish. ORIGINAL RATING 8-4-8-4-15 4/14/2002: Fruity, hoppy taste. Pretty average as far as Belgians go.
