| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 18, 2008 The aroma was fruity with a saaz-like hop presence when first poured and a woodsy and earthy component. A bit of pepper and some grass lurked int the background. The beer poured into the glass clear golden with a frothy tall large bubbled head which laced the glass. The flavor was woodsy and earthy and contained a light bit of spice and a substantial level of bittering. The bittering was enough to immediately turn the beer dry without having to wait for the finish. Some caramel flavor was notable in the bitter and fruity beer. The aftertaste was woodsy and earthy. The body was medium or just a skinch less with a fairly effervescent level of carbonation and a creaminess on the palate. A nice beer, no appreciable alcohol, but plenty of bitterness. 750 ml corked and capped bottle. beerbuzzmontreal (2916), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
