Aug 30, 2008 Bottle #112. Black, tan head, little retention, and no lacing. Chocolate aroma, cola, brown sugar. Flavor is weak, roasty, cola, coffee-ish, caramel in the middle, and bitter towards the end.

Aug 30, 2008 750mL bottle, courtesy of wickedpete. Thanks, Pete! Pours a clear, dark cola-brown color; light tan head with solid retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Full, chocolatey nose: nougat, lively citrus, and doughy malts; pretty nice aroma. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: cola, nuttiness, and dried fruits; very crisp, lively, and drinkable; really nice rendition; robust and solidly bitter. Lengthy finish: cola, chocolate, and toasty maltiness.

Aug 29, 2008 This bottled brew from West Lakeview Liquors in Chicago had a corked marked 2007. It poured a very large sized head of mostly diminishing tan colored finely sized bubbles that left behind a transparent dark red brown softly colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The aroma was nice with chocolate malty notes. The mouth feel was mild at the start with a slightly stronger dark malty finish. The flavor was smooth and on the thin carbonated side with mild chocolate and brown malts.

Aug 29, 2008 75cl bottle. Thank you, Fonefan. Pours dark brown with a small creamy brown head. Nose is slightly roasted. Caramel & toffee. Quite ashy. Smooth. Dry end & very drinkable & pleasant!

Aug 27, 2008 Bottle at Ulfborg RB tasting. Thanks fonefan. Old school porter. The beer is amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma is cocoa, coffee and lots of roasted malt. Flavour is sweet malts, dark fruits and chocolate. Bit thin mouthfeel. Interesting.

Appearance: Brown porter brew , creamy tanned top.
Nose: Roasty nose with slight sourness , soy sauce and dark malt.
Flavor/Palate :Medium light bodied.Slight mushroom like feel , creamy body with some tartness. Stylistically proper.

Pours deep amber with a small, frothy, yellowish head. Nice duration. Aroma has nice chocolate, roasted malts and light coffee. Great moutheel, but sadly feels a little thin. Flavour is very well-balanced, chocolate appearing again, caramel and fine roasted tones. Very pleasant, hust sad that it doesn’t have more oomph in the mouthfeel.
