Subtle, complex, smoky, slightly bitter chocolate tasting brew. This was bottle 474 of a batch of 696 bottles. Delicious. after4ever (2851), Brier, Washington, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2008 Bottle shared by a local. Imperial stout? Really? Poured a deep brown color with some burgundy red highlights and a moderate off-white head that diminished to a ring. Aroma of sweet, lightly roasted malts with some light chocolate, some anise, and a hint of smoke. Smooth, lightly sweet entry leads into a light roasted maltiness with some light chocolate, some anise and raisin, and some light smoke on the finish. Low carbonation, smooth on the palate. Decent, but pretty bland throughout.
