Commercial Description:
There’s plenty of fruit like orange, tangerine and sweet apples. It’s powerful and full bodied but still easy going. Although the name would suggest otherwise, it’s our favourite amongst the female clientele yet also highly appreciated by the other sex. Well hopped as always, but the obvious alcohol and the massive malt and fruit character restrict the hops to the background, only to reveal itself in the finish. Full bodied, notes of champagne. Champagne mousse after pouring in the glass. Grapes and a hint of mandarin curacao in the aroma, together with a hint of vin mousseux. Malty sweet flavor, immensely full bodied, with mandarine curacao and vinous notes. Thick mouthfeel, just a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. Huge beer.

courtesy of Allen - dark brown colour with a fast collapsing head; solid syrupy aroma with notes of nuts and toasted malts; very sweet and sticky, fizzy, full-bodied, a hint of bitterness hidden by a powerful sweetness lasting long in a malty and robustly alcoholic finish - needs at least 5 years of aging

750mL courtesy of madmitch76. The pour is orange copper with thin off white head. The aroma is really pungent and fruity with apricots and pears to go along with spicy to earthy hops and some mild heat at the end of the draw. The taste is sweet syrupy with malts, pears, skinless ripe red apple wedges and apricot fruitiness. It smoothly moves into notes of spicy and earthy hops. The booze kicks in and helps dry it out at the end to help balance out the load of sweetness going on here.

Thanks IBrew2or3 for the share. Pours orange amber with a white head. Wow. The nose on this beer burned a hole in the side of my head... lots of booze with raisins, honey, and the sweeter side of a Barley Wine. Flavor is much the same with lots of alcohol and sweetness. This beer stands ready to kick your ass, too, at any second. Not bad, but very sweet and boozy.

Bottle from De Bierkoning. Ruddy brown, cloudy, with almost no head. Lovely raisins and nuts. Dry nuttiness keeps the sweetness in check. Hints of oranges. Syrupy and full-bodied. A big beer, no doubt.

courtesy of ibrew2or3 pours huey orange with white head. aroma of honey blossom, orange. taste, honey, some orange fruits and hints of otehr dark fruits with a nice syrupy sticky palate where the abv transpires as warming for a boozy palate. Hints of malts with some caramel and spices in the finish. I get the idea of the concept, but in the end it was like drinking a liquorish sugary cough medicine with a lot of booze that ruins much of the palate.

Nose was ALCOHOL and sweet malt. Flavor was sweet booze and dark fruits. Loads and loads of BOOZE. Tough one to drink. Almost cloying sweet.

Bottled 75cl. Courtesy of bierkoning. Shared with Bov. Full bodied, rather syrupy with too much unmasked alcohol showing up in both aroma and taste. Some boiled vegetables sneaking in. Unmemorable. Thanks a lot bierkoning!

Flat hazy amber color. The aroma has light vegetables, but the flavor is very good, strong malt, very sweet, syrupy, with good bitterness. Not overwhelming, but very good for a Barley Wine lover like me.
