Hazy brown color, medium head. Aroma of some roasted malt, chocolat, sweetness. Probably the recipe or the brewing has evolved in time, because it was very nice balanced, no strange ingredients were overwhelming taste and aroma. I’m becoming a fan of this brewery!

Brown color with a good beige head. Aroma is sweet, toffee, yeasty. In the palate you found malt, chocolate, dried fruits.

Bottled. Floral and herbal aroma. Brown color, beige head, good lace. Light sweet, bitter, some licorice, herbal and a hint of vanilla, smooth. I like most of the beers of De Molen but his brewing style isn’t always compatible with the beer style. So well brewed, but strange Dubbel.

(Bottled) Hazy dark ruby color with a small, beige head. Pretty mild, licoricey aroma with sweetish, smooth maltiness and some dried fruit. Burned-roasty, neutral maltiness with some ashes and sweetish-salty licorice in the flavor. Medium-bodied, very smooth and quite low-carbonated palate. Yes, there’s some Rochefort character, especially in the aroma - although it’s quite a bit milder than in the original. Overall a smooth, tasty and balanced, very nice dubbel.

Bottle, bought at the brewery. I’ve used Rochefort yeast for this one, brewer Menno Olivier says proudly. Dark brown color. Apple, chocolate, cinnamon and yeast in the aroma. Indeed, there is some Rochefort character, but I wouldn’t have guessed it without knowing. Chocolate, apple and plums in the flavor. Malty, medium bodied, not too sweet. Blackcurrant, somewhat yeasty. Some distant hop character. Velvety. Likeable beer.
