A classic abbey dubbel. Brown colour, tan head. Aroma and flavour have dark fruits, roasted malts and caramel. Well executed.

Bottle from The Ramsgate Brewery, Broadstairs: Pours a hazy chestnut brown. Large head due to relatively high carbonation. Lots of malt, fruit and toffee flavours with a little roasted malt. Very nice indeed.

(Bottled) Hazy dark ruby color with a small, beige head. Pretty mild, licoricey aroma with sweetish, smooth maltiness and some dried fruit. Burned-roasty, neutral maltiness with some ashes and sweetish-salty licorice in the flavor. Medium-bodied, very smooth and quite low-carbonated palate. Yes, there’s some Rochefort character, especially in the aroma - although it’s quite a bit milder than in the original. Overall a smooth, tasty and balanced, very nice dubbel.

Aroma is of roasted chocolate, toffee malts and some fruitiness. Hazy, brown coloured with a lasting, thin, beige head. Taste is creamy sweet, toffee and coffee malty, some fruits, some prunes. Medium body. Nice beer, good balance.

Hazy brown color, medium head. Aroma of some roasted malt, chocolat, sweetness. Probably the recipe or the brewing has evolved in time, because it was very nice balanced, no strange ingredients were overwhelming taste and aroma. I’m becoming a fan of this brewery!
