Good display of lacework. Dark mahogany color with a reddish glow. Aroma of roasted malt, mild coffee and chocolate, some yeast and dried fruity notes as well. Over the palate came strong almost burned malty notes, sweet chocolate and coffee. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and somewhat thick texture. Moderated sweet and bitter flavor. Lingering roasted malty finish. Nice and solid brew. 7 / 3 / 7 / 4 / 15 cgarvieuk (4225), Edinburgh, Scotland

The white head was very quickly diminishing. Aroma of dried fruits, caramel, and a touch of chocolate. Tastes of mildly sweet dried fruits, mild roasted coffee, and anis. The finish is a tad thin and watery and mildly carbonated. Different, but ok. Maria (6336), Thisted, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 1, 2008 Courtesy of Bierkoning! Transparent, dark brown with a red hue and a huge, nice and creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, burnt caramel and preserved figs. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt, light alcohol, preserved figs, caramel, light licorice and the finish is slightly dry and citrussy. Not very powerful considering the 7.7%. gunnfryd (3632), Kristiansand, Norway
