A solid stout. Nice and bready, loads of roasted malt, typical dry coffee tones. Substantial, creamy mouthfeel which didn’t get too thick or full. Subdued sweetness and the alcohol nicely stayed on the foreground, which was very welcome. Not too much going on but this is a solid offering nonetheless, good but not enough character to be great.

Bottle. Black beer with a light head. The aroma is lightly dry and coffee, and the flavour is caramel dry, coffee and malty. Overall a nice malty, dry and coffee beer.

Roasted aromas with a lot of fruit: pineapple and citrus and caramel. Licorice chocolate and coffee in the taste, some bitterness and mocca. Nice and genuine stout.

Bottle. Almost black with a beige foam. Aromas are light roast malts with caramel. Some lemon. Floral with some bitterness. Flavours are sweet mollasses and coffee with chocolate and berry fruit. Decent.

From bottle: a little thin, medium to light bodied, creamy, malty, loads of chocolate milk and cocca notes, delicate bitterness and roastiness all the way through, some coffee notes, overall a really nice easy drinking stout.

A bit light colored, certainly not black but dark brown, this stout. But it is an excellent one! Roast aroma, of course, but also milky, with coffee and chocolate notes, like a refined mocha melange. The flavor is less subtle. Roasted malt, bitter chocolate, maple syrup. Loads of hops. Blackberries, licorice. Very well done, this beer!

Bottled GBBF 2005. Quite yeasty and typical Dutch flavour. Does not taste like a stout at all. Too thin and watery. Lacks complexity.

Very dark reddish-brown coloured beer with a large tan head. Very fruity nose, cranberries, raspberries and soft roasted malts. Fruity taste, but roasted malts more obvious. Bitterness comes up better and better during the drink. Fairly wellbodied. Pretty odd stout, well worth a try.
