Very small light brown head. Weak vinous aroma. The flavour is quite malty and nicely so. Only a little pepper and bitterness to balance. Quite sweet, but I like it. Too low carbonation, though.

Bottle. 7 months past BB date, but now it is really good. Good malty aroma. Cloudy dark brown colour. Good malty aroma, some malt syrup. The flavour has some of the same notes as the aroma. Sweet and creamy, quite alcoholic finish. Still good after a few years of lagering. 8 3 8 3 16 duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Bottle. Sweet, with some slightly sugary caramel flavours coming through. Quite a sharp yeasty bitterness and also some warming alcohol in the finish. Not too bad, but perhaps could ave done with less carbonation as well. MesandSim (5958), London, Greater London, England

33cl bottle. Red brown looks with a quite thick consitency. Sweet caramelly malt in the nose. Creamy alcoholic flavour with some nice hoppy character, especially in the finish. Palate is over carbed but still quite good. Not bad, would be a good one to get slaughtered on. oh6gdx (9105), Vasa, Finland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2007 Bottled. Hazy nutbrown colour with small beigeish head. Aroma is spices, yeast, malts and caramel. Flavour is honey, hops, caramel and sweet malts. Very nice, and keeps the alcohol away from flavour, but it does indeed give a nice warming feeling while going down. Fukito (604), Buenos Aires, Argentina

Sherry, fruity, prune flavor, vivid and very nice. Medium to full MF, recomforting and easy going. Very nice shinny deep amber color with a medium white head. Amazingly drinkable and warming belgian strong ale. iep (229), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 8, 2007 Poured very dark brown/red. Decently sized head which faded quickly. The aroma is huge, nice complexity. An almost barleywine-like malt profile with dark fruit, candy suger & yeast, plus some peculiar soapyness (?!). Bold flavors, with some stout-like elements even: coffee, chocolate. Good balance. Medium mouthfeel & carbonation. Overall, a pretty wicked brew but that strange astringent soapyness didn’t sit well with me (maybe it is because this was one of the very first bottles & the recipe wasn’t properly tweaked yet). Manyways, nice one, could use some improvement though..
