Bottle from de bierkoning, Amsterdam. Wheat in colour with thin white head. Dry nose of orange, yeast and hops. Tastes salty with notes of orange, cinnamon, honey. Dry raisin finish with a light bitter edge. Full bodied. Syrupy character. Really very tastey and a great starter at 9.2 abv (as this bottle is labelled). A nice standard tripel.

(Bottled, 9.2% ABV) Hazy reddish-amber color with a smallish, white and lacy head. Very orange-fruity, slightly gingery-spicy, dryish aroma with some alcohol. Very slightly sweet, strongly orange-fruity flavor with some acidity and hints of cardboard. Hides the high ABV pretty well, but it does show up in the long, fruity aftertaste. I didn’t find the hops very evident. Medium-bodied, neutral, quite refreshing palate with slightly foamy carbonation. A quite nice tripel, but I found the (less alcoholic) Dubbel more enjoyable.

(75cl bottle, with many thanks to bierkoning) Hazy orange colour with a moderate foamy, minimal off-white head. Honeyish malty, yeasty and fruity (lemon zest) aroma with a touch of coriander spice. Sweet and spicy flavour, full to medium body with a smooth carbonation. Malt-accented, yeasty-fruity taste with an almost lingering spicy, delicate bitter finish, slightly hoppy with a warming alcoholic note. Pleasant and well-rounded brew.

750 ml bottle, shared with a certain MoritzF: light amber coloured, small, but quite stable foamy layer; sweet-malty and fruity (citrousy) nose; sweetish and light bitter flavour; sweetish, fruity, but also distinctive bitter finish. A pleasant, well rounded brew !

33 cl bottle, 9.2% ABV, BB Nov 2006.Hazy orange color, some tiny debris, small off-white head. Strong aroma, some alcohol, malt, fruity of apricot and orange, soft spice. Thick body, bit creamy, but also sirupy texture. Taste of orange and sour grapefruit, some alcohol burn, malty, like in a good triple. In the end, the hopbitterness strikes back, quite complex. Maybe a bit too alcoholic, but i’m very surprised by this excellent triple!

Hazy orange blond beer with nice a creamy yellowish head. Aroma is refreshing malty, has touches of apricot liquor, honey, bee-wax, and Hongarian Tokay wine. Also some hints of arange skin, sour bread (zuurdesembrood) soft spices and slight bitter herbs. The taste is dry malty, has sweet accents (alcohol sweetness) some sour fruity touches and ends with a crispy herbal bitternes. A good one but alcohol is not that well integrated in this brew.

Bottled. Very fruity aroma. Hazy, amber color, light beige head, good lace. Light sweet, citric, pretty bitter, very hoppy, orange start but then mainly grapefruit. Medium body and alcohol well hidden. Again a technically very good beer by De Molen but you gotta like the strong hop bitterness and flavors.
