75 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small tan head. Chocolate and toasted caramel malt aroma. Sweet malty with a distinct citric to slight milky flavoured. Mild citric to the dense malty and chocolate flavour into a deep malty flavoured base. Distinct fruity and wineous. Elements are lovely, but the composition is not harmonious.

On draft at the brewery. Black appearance, brown head. Very complex nose, smoke, tar, malts. Bitter flavour, chcoclate, coffee, lasting finish, some lactic notes. Nice when taking just a few sips, but too heavy to enjoy a full glass of.

Bottled. Aroma has tobacco, cherry, red wine, licorice, roast and chocolate. Probably more, because it is quite complex. Dark brown/black coloured with a small, beige head. The taste has yeast, some heavy hops, chocolate, tobacco, wood, etc. Really complex. Bit too heavy when I had it. I agree with others before me, might be better (more balanced/a little smoother) after some ageing. For people who like the heavy american beer bombs, this one is definately a must.

Bottle. Almost black with a small beige head. Tart berries, mainly sour cherries, but with added complexity. It gets even more exciting in the mouth, with oak balancing the tartness. Still very vinous. Drunk young, but the signs of greatness are already there
