Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Bottle # 042. Pours black and opaque with a vague reddish hue and a light brown head. Sweetish aroma of hard roasted malt and chewing tobacco. Quite full-bodied and salty with a heavy carbonation, hard roasted malts and a distinct underlying acidity. Strangely inharmonious - unfortunately. 200309

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small tan head. Chocolate and toasted caramel malt aroma. Sweet malty with a distinct citric to slight milky flavoured. Mild citric to the dense malty and chocolate flavour into a deep malty flavoured base. Distinct fruity and wineous. Elements are lovely, but the composition is not harmonious.

Bottle 75cl.
Unclear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, acidic coffee, dusty, prunes, vinours, red wine acidic, licorice acidic. Flavor is heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft. A bit unbalanced IMO. [20090320]

Bottled. Quite much black colour with mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is alcohol, acidic fruits, coffee and some chocolate. Flavour is coffee, some sour fruits, chocolate, licorice and mild notes of alcohol. This was a bit "empty" still, maybe needs some aging.

Bottled (Bottled 30.10.2008, bottle #108). Dark opaque brown, not much head (some beige head). Dark roated malts, tobacco ash and cold coffee. Flavor ... thin body, a bit fizzy, dark malts, tobacco ash, color malts. Lacks depth, yeast, sweetness and so. Cuvee 1 is very much better.

Bottle. Almost black, opague, no head. Dark chocolate, ash, oak and vinous notes in the aroma. Licorice. Black chocolate, Bordeaux wine, licorice, coffee, Assam tea and ash in the amazingly complex flavor. Hardly any carbon, almost flat in fact. Probably needs further cellaring, but this is an amazingly complex, very full bodied flavor bomb. From tap @ the brewery the beer proved to be well carbonated.
