Bottle. Almost black, opague, no head. Dark chocolate, ash, oak and vinous notes in the aroma. Licorice. Black chocolate, Bordeaux wine, licorice, coffee, Assam tea and ash in the amazingly complex flavor. Hardly any carbon, almost flat in fact. Probably needs further cellaring, but this is an amazingly complex, very full bodied flavor bomb. From tap @ the brewery the beer proved to be well carbonated.

Bottle. Almost black with a small beige head. Tart berries, mainly sour cherries, but with added complexity. It gets even more exciting in the mouth, with oak balancing the tartness. Still very vinous. Drunk young, but the signs of greatness are already there

Bottle. [thank you ceasar/skortila]
Pours all over the place! :o)
Very dark brown with some grainy quality to the liquid. Big, frothy, beige head that soon disappears. Aroma has lots of molasses, coffee, chocolate, oak, prunes, grapes, blackberries and red wine. Medium carbonation, lightly prickly with a good creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of lovely dark chocolate, light oaky tartness, some coffee, viniousness and lightly warming. Some nuts and Nutella in the finish. Nice, but not near the exceptional Cuvée 1.

Draught at brewerypub. A black colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma is fruity, green appels with orange and citrus. Some notes of malts. The taste is sweet with bitter and it moves over to oak with fruits and malts. The aftertaste has some sweets with bitterness.

Bottle 75cl.
Unclear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, acidic coffee, dusty, prunes, vinours, red wine acidic, licorice acidic. Flavor is heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft. A bit unbalanced IMO. [20090320]

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small tan head. Chocolate and toasted caramel malt aroma. Sweet malty with a distinct citric to slight milky flavoured. Mild citric to the dense malty and chocolate flavour into a deep malty flavoured base. Distinct fruity and wineous. Elements are lovely, but the composition is not harmonious.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Bottle # 042. Pours black and opaque with a vague reddish hue and a light brown head. Sweetish aroma of hard roasted malt and chewing tobacco. Quite full-bodied and salty with a heavy carbonation, hard roasted malts and a distinct underlying acidity. Strangely inharmonious - unfortunately. 200309
