Intensely full-bodied with almost no carbonation, fat accents of hard roasted malt, vanilla and Brandy with a piquante edge of wood. Some malt bitterness in the finish combined with a warming alcohol. My kinda beer! 160509 yespr (12429), Copenhagen O, Denmark

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 18, 2009 Thanks Patrik! Pours inky and pretty black. No chance of getting a head on this. The aroma is bonfire, bitter chocolate, peanuts...a big complex nose. Superviscous...coffee burn, rich chocolate...mouth-coating. There is some rum character, as opposed to cognac. This is a crazy beer, so thick. You get alcohol late and it cuts through - only slightly - the thick malts. It actually tastes quite nutricious, with a big fat oak finish. Astonishingly drinkable, as the heat is muted. fiulijn (7520), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

The aroma is a bit papery, breadish, with light vanilla and cognac. Good body, excellent mix of chocolate, roasted malt, cookies, sweetness, cognac, sweet nuts, light alcohol, light coffee. Well balanced, yet powerful. Great!
