Bottle from BierKoning. Wow. Blackish colour, wheaty head. Sugary, chocolate and wheaty taste. Dark, well textured and seriously malty. Enjoyable, really well done. Very much looking forward to the Rasputin now.

Black appearance, small brown head. Malty aroma, some liquorice. Sweet, thick mouthfeel, somewhat sugary. Bitter finish. Not a true imperial stout if you ask me, but still a nice beer.

Dark brown, beige head. Sweet, creamy and milky. Coffee and licorice in aroma. Flavour: chocolate and licorice. Nice bitterness, but sweet. Still good.

Odd mix of a Belgian Sweet Stout and an Imperial Stout, but I loved this beer! Pear, licorice and milk chocolate in the aroma. Malty flavor, very sweet. Pear. Full bodied, almost thick. Dark chocolate. Creamy and velvety mouthfeel. Long roastbitter aftertaste. There is some complexity challenging the sweetness.

Bottled. For a Imperial Stout it’s too sweet indeed and certainly too much Belgian style as well. But as a beer on it’s own it’s great. Fruity aroma with blackcurrant and some coffee. Ruby color, light brown fine looking head, good lace. Quite sweet, strong flavors, blackcurrant of course, coffee, licorice, roasted bitterness. Full and alcoholic. Complex but well balanced.

Dark black color, medium creamy brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, some mocha, chocolat, slight hop, slight licorice. Creamy chocolat taste, quite hoppy, sweet. Defenitely a stout. It’s the predecessor of the yet to be released Rasputin Imperial Stout. I’m looking forward to that!

And it is bottled.. This is certainly not an abbey dubbel, it is a strong sweet stout or an imperial stout. The brewer wasn’t really satisfied with this beer, too sweet was his judgement and he won’t brew it again. The beer is still available at the brewery. But I like it actually. Aroma of chocolate, coffeee malts. Black coloured with a nice beige head. Taste is initially quite sweet, then an intense bitterness breaks trough. Nice to taste bitter dutch beers. Creamy, and some roasted chocolate malts. Thick mouthfeel.

Had it from tap at the brewery, it’s not bottled yet. It’s a new brew which was long kept in the barrels. Dark brown colored. Sweet aroma of brown sugar, dark chocolate and a bit nutty. Yeasty with a pleasant flavor of hops. A bit creamy with a very nice intense bitterness in the end. Very balanced sweetness. A bit stout like abbey. Definiatly a very nice brew, I hope it will come out in bottles too.
