Hunsell (398), Amsterdam, Netherlands Mar 31, 2008 Bottle. Hazy yellow coloured beer. Nose of oranges and coriander. Very hoppy, herbal taste, almost soupy. Some citrusfruit. Lingering hopbitterness. OK, but not de Molens best beer so far.
oh6gdx (6416), Vaasa, Finland Nov 18, 2008 Bottled (thanks jbrus!). Beautiful coppery amber, hazy, colour with mediumsized off white head that vanishes quite fast. Aroma is fruity hops, yeast, some slight herbal and bready notes. Flavour is zest, some yeast, malts, coriander, herbs and some other fruits too. Alcohol gives a nice sweet edge to it all. Very wellbalanced, palate is on the close border to being a bit too sticky, but luckily stays out of the worst stickyness. Well done, Menno! Miver (469), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 21, 2008 33cl bottle THT 20/03/10. Poured cloudy amber copper in color with a medium sized beige head that left little lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, light fruit, bread, and some spice. Tastes of yeast, orange citrus, sweet malt, coriander, and light spices. Finishes smooth, with some black pepper in the finish. Interesting triple, but quite nice. Ober (507), Best, Netherlands Oct 7, 2008 A hazy orange colored beer, with a thick foamy white ead. It leaves a beautiful lace on the glass. The aroma is very fruity and hoppy. A lot of malts with several spices. It has a full malt taste, with some alcohol, fruits like orange and peaches. Itīs warm. There are spices like coriander and pepper. The aftertaste is long warm and bitter. Another great beer of De Molen. Scauca (285), Lovere, Italy Oct 5, 2008 Hazy orange with a creamy lasting head. Spicy sweet, orangey, yeasty. Ends quite dry and bitter, but far less than other tripels. sayravai (3208), Helsinki, Finland Oct 4, 2008 (Bottled) Hazy (opaque with yeast) orange with a small, mostly fading head, and large yeast clumps in the bottom of bottle. Very fruity aroma with sweetish toffee maltiness and some sahti-like juniper spiciness. Quite bitter for a tripel, with sweetish-fruity, mildly acidic and fusely-vegetably maltiness. Yeast once again smooths it out, yet leaves some hops and fusels intact. Medium to full, warming body with slightly fizzy carbonation. Well hidden alcohol. Basically an enjoyable tripel, that without the fusels would challenge Chimay Tripel.
