Commercial Description:
Imperial Stout – 10,2% vol. Twice the amount of dark roasted malts used, massive Imperial stout. This is a mad one. Black brown colour with a thick and creamy tan head that can be added to as you wish if you give the bottle a swirl. Give this beer time to breathe and blossom into something truly stunning. Chocolate and alcohol are right there at the front but do not at all overpower the gorgeousness that is underneath. Full of leather, vanilla, amazing wooden notes, beautifully floral character from the hops, thick Belgian chocolate, much character. The flavour of crazy wooden tartness. An extremely bitter finish seems to come out of nowhere and is what really makes this quite unique. Superb width in the mouth and coats the whole palate beautifully.

Bottle from De Bierkoning.

Not a surprise, I find this beer delicious in every way. Excellent look with a large creamy tan head and near pitch black body. Strong flavor intensity and complexity from start to finish. Coating mouth feel. Nose is strong and fairly complex. An incredibly great beer. Quite stunning. De Molen’s beers are one of a kind. The best stout brewer on earth.

Bottled. I really need to keep track of my ratings. I drank half a crate of this beer during the summer period. Mostly in the evenings with something to read or a movie. This beer really suits for those moments with its long lasting bitter finish. Aroma has chocolate, vanilla, oak and coffee. Pitch black coloured beer with a thin, beige head. The taste is roasted, bit sweet with chcocolate and coffee. Lingering chocolate-bitter palate. Full bodied. Bit like the Yeti. For me one of the best Molen brews.

Sampled at DØE Beerfestival 2009, Valby. Pours a pitch black beer with a very small head. The aroma and flavor is roasted, licorice, coffee and chokolate. The palate is bitter, a good body and low carbonation. Overall a really good beer.
