| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 4, 2009 On tap at 1st BBF at De Molen. Beer poured a hazy brown body with a light character in the middle of the body. Slight off white head. The aroma gives a strong oak character along with some malt and fruit notes. There is a very present cognac character in the taste and wonderful dried fruit notes. After all of that there is still a hop bitterness that lasts on the tongue. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 4, 2009 Had this at the Borefts Beer Festival, De Molen Brewery, Bodegraven, Netherlands 30-10-09 I had only a very small sample of this courtesy of Ken? Cheers mate. Much better than the Simcoe version, pours mid brown bit murky, quite fruity once again the alcohol is very well disguised, the cognac really does show, good stuff. Pours muddy brown with a small film head. Aroma has lots of cognac, sweet caramel, oak, some herbal notes and raisins. Alcohol as well. Highish carbonation, nice dry and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is very sweet, caramel, some sharp alcohol and lots of cognac. There is really a lot of cognac going on in there... Still fairly drinkable. joergen (8523), Frederiksberg, Denmark
