Bottled at Monk’s Café Sveavägen, Stockholm. Murky amber, more or less no head. Woody caramel aroma. Sweet and soft, totally full bodied. Spun sugar and caramel together with woody cognac. The softness lifts the beer to it’s full potential. Alcohol is evident, but works as a dimension adding flavour enhancer. A vinous wonderful sipper with peppery bitterness that keeps growing. As it warms dimension after dimension appears. Cheers Jens!

( 750ml bottle, courtesy of Ungstrup ) Well another beer named after…the man, the myth, the beer legend. Pours an amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, vinous, brandy, oak, and vanilla. Flavor of vinous, caramel, green raisins, dried apricot, and some light spices. Happy 40th, Jens!

Sampled at DØE Beerfestival 2009, Valby. Pours an unclear brown/golden beer with no head. The aroma is weak caramel, with notes of acidity. The flavor is sweet and caramel. The palate is sticky and sweet. Overall a good beer. Cheers Jens.

It is a hazy, red-bronze-brown beer with a limited head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, wood, fruit, caramel, berries – it’s vinous. The flavor is quite sweet with notes of raisin, tobacco, wood, caramel overripe fruit, berries, and the finish is slightly bitter and dry with a touch of citrus. Even it’s so sweet, it also is very complex, and it hides the alcohol well.

Bottled. Dark amber coloured. Fluffy beige head. Aroma is sweet, has wood, prunes, berries and spice. Light wood note. Flavour of sweetness, prunes, alcohol, brown sugar, vanilla and apple and a lot more. Medium to full bodied. Ends on a sweet and sugary note. Quite delicious. Would age well.

Bottled at Monks Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm. Pours out in a shady reddish mahogany colour with a small white foam. Rich, dense and compact aroma of prunes, fudge, sweet licorice, wood, cognac, red berries, white pepper and almonds. Full-bodied with strong chewy malty notes of pine-apples, prunes, wood, cognac, brown sugar, red apples and roasted almonds. Really thick and viscous mouthfeel with nearly no carbonation. Long chewy and a bit sticky finish of caramelized sugar, prunes, white pepper and cognac. Quite a astonishing dessert sipper, this. Another five years or so would do wonders.

Pours dark amber red with no head. Huge sweet nose of caramel, honey, candied and brown sugar. Same in the flavor with some heat. Syrupy sweet with an incredible mouthfeel.
