(Draught@Pikkulintu) Very dark brown with a large, lasting and creamy, tanned head. Neutral, roasty, quite complex coffee aroma with sourish notes. Flavor is somewhat burned and sour, with strong black coffee presence and sticky maltiness. Quite full-bodied with lowish carbonation. A nice dessert for coffee fans, but not quite my thing. (Bottled, 0.75l) Very dark brown with a small, tanned head. Very dry aroma with burned-roasty malt, some sourish hints and notes of black coffee. Dry and bitter flavor with lots of coffee. Coffee also remains for pretty long in the aftertaste. You’ll like this, if you’re into really dry and roasty beers, and coffee. Even if you don’t, you’ll probably like it anyway - but better share the bottle.

Bottled 75 cl #141 (PBF, brewed 04/2009). Opaque black color, small beige head. Interesting intensive nose: tobacco, black coffee, coffee beans and ink. Flavor is all coffee: semi-raw coffee beans, apple fruity, a bit sweet. Long roasted aftertaste. Lot of ageing potential, now too raw and appley sweet fruity.

Bottled. Deep ruby colour, medium brown head. Aroma is coffee, liquorice, vanilla and some earthy notes. Flavour is roasted malts, vanilla, some roast and mild notes of vegetables. Alcohol gives a warming feel to it.

On tap at Café België in Utrecht, 12th June 09. Pitch black with a tan head. Superb coffee aroma, likewise a great refined coffee taste. No harshness, just very expensive tasting coffee. The palate is ultra smooth and just right for savouring every mouthful. Sweet yet bitter, this is a delight.

On tap at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It’s a pitch black beer with a lasting, big, creamy head of tan color. Bonfire notes and charcoal, dark coffee and chocolate and some alcohol on the nose. Sweetish flavor, but actually rather dry mouthfeel, with lots of coffee, roasted bitterness, notes of chocolate, some alcohol and mocha. Long roasted finish and a full-bodied, warming mouthfeel. A wonderful coffee beer, even for a non coffee drinker like me. (090516)

Huge, towering amber-crème head, variously bubbled; over pitch-black beer. Very rich moccha or "café glacé" aroma, hops, and quite some ureum. Bitter coffee attack, then immediately an impression of sweet, like moccha-icecream. Seafood retronasal. Long-lasting roasted coffee, lingering into the aftertaste. Full bodied, sllick as none (or Turkish coffee, maybe?). Dessert coffeebeer. Why the Dickens do I like this, whilst loathing real coffee?? BTW, my bottle claims 10% ABV

Bottled. Dark brown color, no head, flat. Aroma of chocolat, mocca, coffee, hint of vanilla. Creamy milky taste. Bit roasted malt, slight bitter palate. Quite nice.
