Aroma is dark malt-roasty, slight vegetal, dark fruit. Taste is vinuous, dark malt-roasty, slight vegetal, dark fruit, some salt/acidic. Thanks dkachur/Dan for sharing. DA (2468), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Aug 13, 2008 RBSG 2008. Pours dark brown with a soft tan head that fades fast. Very smoky and earthy, heavy burnt flavors give an impression of BBQ’d steak, some charred hefty concoction. Finish has a touch of saltiness, that when mixed with the charred flavors brings out a touch of soy sauce. Immy (1583), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Aug 11, 2008 Richmond Summer Gathering. Bottled 1NOV07, #458, courtesy of dkachur. Black with no head. Mild nose, roasty malt, chocolate, raisin, a whiff of smoke. Excellent body - slick and satiny. Slightly burnt malt flavors, chocolate and a touch of licorice. Just a bit of saltiness in there somewhere. Excellent!
