Bottle at BBF. Black body with small head. Nose of malts and chocolate. Really nice, rich and dark taste of chocolate, coffee and dark fruits. Well-balanced. Very, very good.

Bottle at 1st Borefts Beer Festival at De Molen. Black coloured with a small beige head. Roasted aroma of dark chocolate with notes of port wine and whisky. Roasted flavour of dark chocolate and port wine with notes of dried fruits. Dry roasted and warming alcoholic finish.

Bottled @ BBF. Cloudy brownish color, medium off-white head. Aroma of chocolat and coffee, but also fruity red wine. Perfect balance in taste between the roasted coffee from the tsarina esra and the vinous notes of the barrel aging. Awesome stuff.

On draft at 1st Borefts Beer Festival, Bodegraven. Completely dark appearance, beige head. Very complex nose, chocolate, coffee, malts. Very complex flavor, some sweetness, nicely balanced. I like it eeven a lot more than the regular version (altough that one was very young). Absolutely fantastic.

Bottled at Borefts Bier Festival, De Molen. Black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, some coffee and dark fruits. Flavour is all of the above, nice chocolate and vanilla sweetness ending in a nice soft bitter finish. Fullbodied. Outstanding.

Wow. Bottle from our Mes, yet again fine work mate. Black as Tevez’s heart, with elbow patch brown head. Aroma is head swimmingly awesome and heart achingly lovely. Like a dustbin lid sized chocolate cake. Rich but smooth flavour. Perfect mouthfeel. The oak aging gives a hint of vanilla, almost bordering on coconut. Almost liquor like. Has a wine like quality somewhere in the huge finish, not in the palate er somewhere else. Lovely. Will definitely have to re-rate in a larger quantity if I get the chance. And I’ll certainly be looking for it.

Chocolate and fine cigars, washed down with eyebrow-raising quantities of schnapps and cherry brandy, it’s an entire christmas holiday condensed into beer. I don’t care that it is August.
