On draft at 1st Borefts Beer Festival, Bodegraven. Completely dark appearance, beige head. Very complex nose, chocolate, coffee, malts. Very complex flavor, some sweetness, nicely balanced. I like it eeven a lot more than the regular version (altough that one was very young). Absolutely fantastic.

[PERSONAL NOTES] Tydelig duft af rødvinsfad. black, tan foam, smoke, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour - rødvinsfadet slår godt igennem, men ikke for meget. medium body, sticky texture,

It’s black with a light brown, creamy head. The aroma is vinous with notes of wood, roasted malt, dark fruit, vanilla, chocolate and light licorice. The flavor has a moderate sweetness and is vinous with notes of wood, roasted malt, vanilla, dark fruit, berries, chocolate and towards the end also light licorice. It is truly nice!

Bottle #806 poured by Glenn at Alvinne - thanks Glen! Very dark maroon color with an edge head and some lacing. Aroma of chocolate and bitter cocoa. Flavor starts with milk chocolate then progresses to roasted espresso beans and vanilla, well-balanced. Very good body. Nice De Molen brew.

Bottle # 463. This is the best beer Ive had in a while. Pours pitch black with a creamy lasting brown head and lacings. Deep roasted malty with an incredibly vinous touch. Red Wine, chocolate, abit of vanilla and coffee. Vinous, smooth and full bodied. Great balance and great flavor. Light warmth. Dammnn, this is a top tenner.

Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Light brown dense head. Aroma of roast, sugar, fruits, coffee and berries. Light vanilla as well. Flavour of wood, berries, vanilla, brown sugar, herbs, light caramel and vague roast. Medium to full bodied. Ends on a sweet, quite syrupe and vanilla dense note. Light alcohol warmth on lips and palate. Quite nice.

Dark brown, close to black with a small but compact light brown head that leaves some nize lazing after a swirl in the snifter. Aroma is extremely vinous and woody with notes of various berries and fruit, vanilla, caramell and toffe. Flavour is similar but even more intense belive it or not.. Its extremely fruity and mature with a almost red-wine like character with additional notes of caramell, light chocolate and coffe. Ends on a mature longlasting, slightly alcoholic (warming) and sweet note with the barrel character lingering forever. Body is big, almost chewable and creamy smooth.

Flaske: Åbner med et pift hvilket er beroligende. Farven er sort med et minimalt skumhoved. Duften er meget alkoholisk med en svag bourbon note. Smagen er kraftig bourbon på en uraffineret måde. Base øllen må sådan set have været ok, men alt drukner i bourbon. Ikke nogen fantastisk øl, der dog alligevel sniger sig op på over 3 bare fordi.
