"Original recipe" with some tweaking: 50-55 IBU’s, roasted malts, and lots of Saaz aroma hops. Cork stamped FP0608. Pours a clear golden straw with crazy active carbonation. Fluffy head of bleached white foam sits proudly with large bubbles on the outer edges decreasing in size as you make your way inward. Laces in a whipped egg white fashion. Spicy aromas with just a hint of must. Bready nature to the nose. A smidge earthy. Subtle tart fling. Flavors tickle the palate with peppery spiciness, tilled earth, and a cotton candy sweetness. Farmy funk noted, but not overbearing. Tart and sour apples. Bitter. Lemon zest finish. More cracked pepper. Almost a wintry spicing with cinnamon and nutmeg. Dry finish with pepper and funk. Roasted malts? I didn’t quite get those, but I did get plenty of earth, so maybe that’s it. Busy carbonation, yet feels creamy. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA

It hazes slightly the longer it sits in the glass. Exceptional head retention and superb thick sheets of lacing. Mild tart funk accompanies bread dough and yeast in the aroma.
Tasty beer - tart and funky with biscuit malt, yeast, dry grain, lime, hay, and peach pit. Weird, but very good. The peach pit flavor lingers, taking leather and bee pollen along for the ride. Smooth mouthfeel, very creamy carbonation. Enjoyed at cellar temp in a stemmed Belgian goblet. A wild ride, and a great beer. joshwilfong (789), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Very strong flavor with unusual malty flavor that consumes most of the taste with a slightly sour hoppy finish. Very interesting tjthresh (1778), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 5, 2007 Updated: Sep 18, 2008Pig Nun. Hazy golden color with a medium head that quickly fades down to almost nothing. Orange aroma and enough sourness to make me think Gueuze. Light malt taste. The hops are pretty floral; I’m thinking German hops. The sourness falls off a lot, but is still noticeable. Definitely a different Belgian Strong.
Belgian Beer Fest at the Muddy Pig. This is an interesting one... We were able to try a 2008 vintage of this ale, which happens to be a gruit. If it is ever released under a different label, I’ll just move it then. Gold color with a thin head. Aroma of hay and dried apricots. A very smoky taste to it. Dry, floral hops. Pretty strong grain. Yeasty and a heavy Brett dryness. Really delicious. 7/4/8/4/16 grease (42), Reno, Nevada, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 3, 2007 PIG NUN 75cl: This is a magnificent beer with good Brettanomyces character, reminiscent of aged Duvel. The head was thick, white and rocky. It lasted for the entire pour leaving lacy patterns on the inside of my tulip glass. Some sugary sweetness with hints of citrus notes and mild clove phenols (certainly not medicinal). Bitterness balances sweetness very nicely and promotes a slightly astringent finish (also from carbonation). I would gladly drink this regularly if it were available. bhensonb (4340), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2006 The Brewmaster’s Collection: Reinaert Flemish Wild ale. Acidic aroma, cleanly medicinal, yeast, sugar. Orangy gold color, with a quickly disipating white head. Starts with candy sweetness offset by a phenolic impact. Hence the medicinal. Decent mouthfeel. Quite a conflict as sweet and sour duke it out. The finish is light candy with phenol. The hops are phenolic? Could be - Google "phenolic hops". Others detect it. Way unusual. Not quite dry in the finish. Not sweet either. Sombeast (151), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 26, 2006 11.2 oz. bottle, labelled "Reinaert Flemish Wild Ale", The Legendary Cunning Fox, Triple fermented using two yeast strains, Saccharomyces & Brettanomyces. Served in a tulip glass. Aroma of lemon rinds being consumed by a funky yeast. Pours a interesting pale orange-yellow color and the 1/2 finger creamy white head is actually growing as I watch. Flavor is very mild and balanced on the front, almost disappointing in its initial blandness. Shortly thereafter the brett sourness comes to life and I am actually beathing in and out the funk. This is much more satisfying. Mouthfeel is creamy, perhaps a bit over-carbonated. The finish is dry and the sourness lasts long enough to savor. I find the alcohol well hidden, but I feel the warming in my belly as I make my way through this stout 9% beer. The aroma, apprearance and finish are the best parts. Breathe while comsuming to best enjoy the Brett character.
