The pours is golden with a nice size white head. The aroma is complex, with earthiness, barnyard qualities, grapefruit, and malty sweetness. The flavor is a mixture of earthiness, malt, and a light snap of grapefruit at the finish.

Very fruity aroma with some sour hints. The apperance is extremely light--almost wit-like. Light palate that is extremely carbonated. The taste is nice and even, but the foamy carbonated mouthfeel ruins the experience.

Under the name Reinhardts Flemish Ale at Bill and Steiny’s party. Beer 16 for me. Has that funky sour aroma. The taste is not quite so sour, a little creamy. A little too malty. Odd and good, but not great.

Pours hazy straw with a large white head that takes awhile to recede. Yeasty, spicy aroma, with a good deal of cat pee. There is a light citrus and bubblegum smell beneath it all, right on top of a very light vinegar-like sourness. Very spicy start to the flavor. Then the candy sweetness and Flemish Sour Ale sourness duke it out until they’re too tired to stand up to the yeast/hop mixture that comes in at the end and beats them to death. Very dry finish. Interesting conflict between the sweet and the sour.

Pinhead label. Pours a hazy golden-yellow with a medium fizzy white head. Interesting aroma of spice, sourness, and some alcohol. Dry flavor of hops, spice (maybe coriander), sweet malt, and sourness. Sour and dry finish. Overall different and enjoyable.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, biegaman & blankboy. -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Labelled Reinaert Flemish Wild Ale. Hazy dark yellow, small foamy white head. Strong alcohol, spice, sweet malt, hint of sourness in aroma. Taste - lots of alcohol, way too much right up front. This is followed by stale malt, weird fruitiness (almost banana skin like), and either hops or sourness at the end, I really couldn’t tell. Long alcohol burn. Not sure how exactly this is a sour Flemish ale. Love the aroma, but this beer is way too harsh to be enjoyable.

Beer pours a hazy golden-straw color, quite effervescent, but with a weak head. Bouquet is... unique. There’s definitely some wild bacteria in there, along with some pepper, and it’s floral, almost like a rose. Body is nicely balanced against alcohol and carbonation. Flavor takes me aback a little. Hop bitterness is moderate, and there’s some spicyness, maybe from the hops too. Hops are quite pronounced for a beer like this. Some estery flavors. And there’s also only what I can describe as a bit of a "trashy", almost rotten & plastic-y flavors-- I attribute this to the wild contamination. It’s not the wonderful sour flavors that you get from other Belgian brews like lambics. This "trashy" flavor lingers with the hop bitterness for a surprisingly long time. I still have the flavor in my mouth after a full half-hour. Also some buttery, diacetyl aftertaste. Still, this beer isn’t bad... or maybe it is. It is certainly weird, though.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, biegaman & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Labelled Reinaert Flemish Wild Ale. Pours a hazy yellow-gold with a small diminishing white head. Awesome aroma is sweet and sour with fruit, spices, malt and yeast. Flavour of sweet malt and spices with a tart and alcoholic bitter finish -- alcohol’s more prominent then I’d like. Medium bodied. Pretty good but could’ve been great if the flavour lived up to the aroma.
