Original Rating (8-4-9-4-18=4.3): Horse blanket, sweat, barnyard aromas abound with pears and melons filling it out into something that smells like food. Opaque tan-gold with a low but lasting white head that leaves some fine lacing. Dusty, musty, fruity, pear flavour with plenty of barnyard brett character that evokes a humid basement. Horseblanket and wood are the lasting sensations on the tongue along with an herbal, hay-like, grassy note after the very tart finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Expansive bubbles fill the mouth with liquid joy. I think I like it - wish I knew which release this was... who kept that bottle? Bottle savoured with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Olivier_MTL, Rastacouere and Yowie.
Rerate - Reinaert Flemish Wild Ale (8-4-7-3-15=3.7): Musky, floral, apricot, peach, mushroom, funky brett aroma. Opaque orange-yellow body is topped by a decent, fine bubbled, white head that recedes to lasting cover with some lacing. Very sweet, cakedough yeast character with plenty of fruitiness and herbal hops with funky brett character in the finish. Medium body is doughy with moderate carbonation. Bottle enjoyed with beerbuzzmontreal, ClarkVV, Goldorak, MartinT, muzzlehatch, Olivier_MTL, Rastacouere and Yowie.

Pours a cloudy golden color with some floaties and a thin white head. Interesting aroma and flavor of horse blanket, spices and fruits. Medium body, dusty texture, soft carbonation.

Pours a hazy light orange color with a ring of white lace. Excellent aroma of fruits, brettanomyces, funk and spices. Exellent flavor of doughy yeast, fruits, brettanomyces and spices. The body has a light to medium thickness, a creamy texture and medium carbonation.

The Lure:
Subtle brett seems to be teamed with a dirty yeast. Fluffy carbonation propulses a pine-y lotion along with diverse fruity esters. Plantanes emerge to take a look around, for the pleasure of the nostrils.

The Festivities:
Brettanomyces here is milder than Mo Betta Bretta, Sanctification and Orval, yet enunciates its herbal wildness with diligence. Tree bark surrounds the round malt body. A haystack is also perceived through the soft, cushion-y effervescence. Obviously not a 100% brett beer, but I could not be complaining, this is very well done.

Transcendence:
You can’t go wrong with a trip to a forest in the country.

As Reineart Flemish Wild: A brett charmer operating in a desert dry barn, luring the lemony acidity with his hard cookie flute...Mint and dandelions adorn the basket where the muscular brett cavorts and prances to the languid melodies of the learned player...All around, the freshness of harvest season is palpable as haystacks seize the air with their pungent liveliness...The intrinsical wilderness of the countryside is so appealing...

Funky aroma that reminds me of a mildly sour lambic. I get a touch of coconut, lemon, and lemonheads. Taste is unexpected. I’m thinking it should be sour, but is more on the sweet side. Kind of like a wit or wheat with some funkiness. Unique to me. Very enjoyable.

Had the Pig Nun version. A strong aroma of a box of bandaids. Heavy medicinal quality. I really could not get into this style, but it was definitely interesting and different from anything I’ve had.

Pours a lite straw with a bubbly, loosely-knit head that settles into some nice lace. Aromas are sweetish apricots with some pungent horse blanket. I think the only bretta in here is bruxelensis because there really isn’t much in the way of tartness. The flavors are very lite and fruity with some unpasteurized cheese flavors and a lushness due to the high CO2. The body is lite. Thie finish is clean and short. Very nice beer.

75cl bottle, no date found...pours a really pretty golden-bronze color...somewhat loose, but generous head leaving lace...corked. sweet woody cork aroma, buried under that is some barnyard smell like horseblankets in the sun and wet hay. well carbonated, and nice medium body...finishes w/ sweetness mingled with more barnyard and cork. Pretty decent...like a sweet triple with wild yeast in it...but not hoppy or funky enough for me to think its a stand out...just a good, enjoyably beer. I know I’ve had the bottle for at least 1 year, I don’t know where or when I got it...wish I knew how old it was, maybe it was more upfront when it was younger?? Rather one dimensional know...the cork really hurts it...

75cl bottle 45ibu Pig-Nun lable Good pour, nice heading. Smells a bit of cat pea at first, but I don’t mind it...aromatic, stinky beer! Wild yeast is the dominant flavor giver...many will be repulsed(like Laura), but I find it intriguing. Hops & especially bitterness make an impact...malt is subtle. Drank some with grilled King Crab legs...it comletely obliterated their taste from my mouth...it was a fun juxtapostion...bittersweet wildness dominates the finish. As it warms and flatens it becomes more friendly. Certainly complex, let’s see how it ages.

Bottle. Clear, golden incolor on the first pour wiht a large white head formed from varying sized bubbles. Slightly barny aroma, a bit horsey and for some reason smelling a bit cherry-like. Very biting at first taste, quite tart and bitter. Lighter side of medium bodied and well carbonated. A touch drying. Alcohol comes through in the middle along with some malt balance and a touch of hop wraps up nicely at the finish. Interesting blend of Belgian Strong and a spontaneous fermented beer.
