RSRIZZO (1018), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jun 29, 2008 This is a bottle of the SURLY BIRD. Aroma is bad, its like a sour diaper with some very faint fruit tones. Color is a pale hazy gold with good carbonation and a loose white head. Taste is as bad as the aroma. It starts with a medium body that goes down sharp. Finish is beyond bad its a sour plastic taste and a strong flavor that can only be described as dirty baby diaper. Oh my god this sucks, I have no idea why this beer has gotten this high of a rating.

Pours a great golden with a small, staying, creamy, white head. Aroma is lightly funky, malt, brett, oranges and lemons. Super, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly tart, citric, some yeast, vanilla and coriander. Very nice. PilsnerPeter (1473), Flushing, New York, USA Sep 29, 2008 Bottle: Pours an effervescent golden with a thin white head. Nice aroma- sweet and funky simultaneously. Some leather, cinnamon, vanilla yogurt, apple crisp and golden raspberries. Has lively carbonation with a sweet and spicy flavor. Caramelized/baked apple, mild cinnamon, earthy/herbal notes of honey suckle, touch of butterscotch, and light peppery alcohol. Towards the finish is a subtle leather touch. A pretty nice Belgian Ale, unique. LilBeerDoctor (624), East Setauket, New York, USA Sep 28, 2008 Bottle sampled on 09/26/08 at Night of the Funk (labeled as Reinaaert). Pours a cloudy gold with a white head. Aroma of yeast, citrus, and funk. Flavor is somewhat indescript. Some funky melon, milk cheese, and other sweet fruits. Decent beer. fredandboboflo (618), East Setauket, New York, USA Sep 28, 2008 Bottle from 08 Night of the Funk. Referred to as Reinaaert. Aroma of burnt, moldy cheese. Flavor of bittersweet fruits, mildly acidic, some citrus. Ok. DrBayern (975), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Sep 17, 2008 Date: 09/17/08, 33cl bottle labeled "Reinart Flemish Wild ale."

Aroma - Wonderful fruity aroma, yeast notes with just a hint of funkiness, some spice in the background

Appearance - Light, hazy gold with a medium white head that has excellent staying power and leaves a sheeting, ropy lace well into the glass

Flavor - The fleeting fruity sweetness gives way to a pleasing acidity and sourness that brings to mind a green, tart apple. Some bitterness at the finish adds to the dryness.

Palate - Light to medium body and a very healthy effervescence that serves to cleanse and dry the palate. The light, dry mouthfeel is refreshing.

Overall - Very nice, nothing overstated, but certainly with enough complexity to be interesting. Very drinkable, and the alcohol never shows itself as a significant factor.
