Commercial Description:
A strong blonde ale of about 8.5% alc. by volume that claims vaguely to be an “abbey” beer, Guldenberg bears no resemblance whatsoever to any Tripel you may have sampled, except in color perhaps. It is very hoppy and malty (though not quite as assertive as De Ranke’s XX Bitter). Made in small batches only on the weekends, they are quickly gaining a reputation as the best specialty beers of Belgium.

Bottle. Hazy, golden-orange beer with a small, off-white head. Malt, hops and sweetness in the aroma. The flavor is sweet as well, with pale malt, some alcohol and a dusty, cellary note. Full to medium body. Shared the bottle with someone saying it was unmature, but I disagree. To me it felt fresh and pleasing. (070928)

Tasted at Vinens Verden.. Fresh and slightly bitter. It is perfekt for the sommer with it’s taste of elderflower and lime.

Bottle, 33 cl. Large off-white head that’s mostly lasting. Cloudy amber colour. Moderate malty with aroma of cereal, and moderate/heavy hoppy aroma. Soft carbonation and moderate long bitter finish. Good

bottled, big thanks to henrikb for bringing this to plzen. hazy orange with a lingering fluffy head. aroma of cheesecake and vanilla custard. plenty of nicely soft and sweet flavours - lemon meringue, apple peel, white grape and then with a good dose of bitterness. very nice indeed

330ml bottle. Coudy orange colour with a big, off-white head. Aroma of spice, yeast and grassy hops. The flavour had some sweet malt, herbs and a long hoppy finish. Very good.
