The aroma is very floral and fruity in an almost perfumed way. the mouth feel is rather full. The flavour is sweetish with notes of flower and it’s quite citrussy, actually more like grapefruit. In the finish I also find light notes of caramel. boojummy (50), Medford, Massachusetts, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 27, 2007 Pours a hazy deep amber with a creamy, dense white head. Aroma of apples and spice. Taste is quite unexpected! Flavor is tea-like, with delicate hops flavor and bitterness, a like pepper-like kick, and a subdued maltiness in the background. Hop bitterness lingers a bit along with a powerful floral aroma that reminds me of stepping into a florist shop. Hops bitterness is on the level of a mild IPA, including the slight soapy flavor. Carbonation is just right-- enough to add some levity but not to distract. This beer is perfectly balanced. I suspect that this would pair very well with food, esp. red meat. Will drink again. Touch of sweetness melts into powerful hops throughout, including a lastingly bitter finish. Nice, full body abd refreshing. Liked this beer much more on the second go-round. iep (229), Amsterdam, Netherlands
