Nice clear golden color. Nice head to, and well presented in a nice goblet.
The taste is very sparkling, hoppy, malty all well balanced.
Long aftertaste of hoppy bitters. For me one of my favourite tripels. A treasure.
As a draught beer it’s cloudy, but still well balanced, and exiting. asheft (1438), Marburg, Germany

Citrusy grapefruit flavour with sweet malt and woody bitterness, finished with obvious noble hops. Good balance of sweet and bitter. Light to medium body with considerable carbonation and a lingering woody bitterness. Dough77 (777), Aurora, Illinois, USA

Aroma saturated with spices, some bananna, other light fruits but they are minimal. Flavor brings out more pepper, the spices are also more present along with the yeastiness. Nose of light grape-alcohol, wheat, cellar-must early on, strawberries, and some pizza dough. Nicely herbal bitter with some sweet malts, balance this one out nicely. Mouthfeel is creamy as it warms. Slight peppery. Faint nut-oils and traces of cocoa with vanilla. Some honey. Not too distinctive but tastey. pilsnerrogge (1792), Finspång, Sweden

Spicy (cloves) flavour with long pine needle bitter finish. The alcohol is shining through a little. MrWalker (927), Stockholm, Sweden

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 19, 2005 Thick head on a hazy orange body. Very well balanced, rather fruity, neither too swwet nor too bitter. It is rather complex and a real joy to drink. Kinz (2215), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 7, 2005 750ml bottle, December 20004 bottle, December 2003 wrapper? Pretty deep gold, great head. Spicy aroma, quite yeasty. Flavor had strong yeast component, a good dose of apricot, and a medicinal, quinine bitterness that dominated all. The comparison to a mix between Duvel and Orval is an apt one, although I enjoyed sipping on this one. Complex and interesting.
