The aroma is very nice and interesting. I probably sniffed this one for a solid two minutes. I picked up horseblanket, oranges, spices, caramel, and a touch of overripe fruit. The taste is pretty much the same with horseblanket, spices, caramel, and a little hoppiness in the finish. Not much in the way of sweetness, as it has a vague taste of old oranges. Pretty refreshing though, and interesting. saxo (3640), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2009 Bought this on a whim because I’m a sucker for these mysterious bottles wrapped in festive paper. Popped open the cap on this big heavy green bottle and I could see the tip starting to foam up a little bit. Grabbed the Tulip glass and out in poured: a lovely electric hazy golden rose amber with a light and tall standing head of suds. Smell was moderate, but could detect some apricots and spice. Taste centered around a malty, hoppy, and slightly fruity feel. Was way less sweet and sugary than I was expecting and the balance was just perfect. The subtle presence of this beer is the highlight and it hit the spot on a rainy Friday night. Would certainly reach for this one again. Bragesnak (2276), Aarhus, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 23, 2009 (33cl bottle) Hazy, orange-golden coloured, effervescent hue with a blond frothy head. Light-sweet malty, slightly zesty aroma with notes of grape-fruit and peppery hops. Moderately bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a well-matured but nevertheless lively carbonation. Soft malt-character, slightly yeasty and fruity taste with a good dash of peppery spicy hops, leading into a moderately dry and bitter finish. Lacks the perfect balance but is still a goody (23.V.09). ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Heavenly looking texture to the head - white, fluffy, stiff, billowy, with a slightly hazed golden body underneath. Unfiltered bottle-conditioned Belgian ale, is there anything better in this world? Such a super stenchy, sharp, funkified nose, with notes of sour cream, crisp pale malts, minerally and peppery Belgian yeast, the lightest touch of alcohol.... man, the aura on this beer is remarkable. Crisp, wet, slick up front, superbly full and frothy across the mid-palate, finishing with equal parts fresh/sharp/bright pale malts and mild funk/pepper/mineral-like yeast. Amazing beer all around. Bright zesty look and start followed by bracing hops and sourness that develop and change on the palate for about a minute with things like figgy apricot and tree-barky brazil nut and bitter orange shandy popping out. Did I mention the wonderful carbonation?
